This holy festival is dedicated to Mata Kubjika, who is considered one of the twelve Siddhavidya Goddesses in Hinduism. Kubjika Jayanti 2026: Significance
The puja of Devi Kubjika, who is also known as Vakreshvari and Chhinnani, is of extreme importance in Shakta and Kaula Tantra. The term Kubjika means "the Bent One." As per legends, when Lord Shiva embraced Goddess Vakrika, she bent her body due to shyness; this is how she acquired this title. She is referred to in the Agni and Matsya Puranas. Her worship gained much popularity from the 10th to the 12th centuries in India. However, it started fading away later. Nonetheless, in Nepal, worship of this deity continues via Mantra and Tantra even now.
Kubjika Jayanti 2026: Puja Vidhi
For the worship of the Mother Goddess on Kubjika Jayanti, sit facing west after taking your morning bath. Meditate upon the Mother's twelve-armed form, and offer lotus flowers, incense, and lamps. Chanting the mantra "Ha Sa Ksh Ma La Na Va Vaṣaṭ" using a Rudraksha rosary is considered highly auspicious. In the practice of Tantra, performing a Havan, undertaken with a solemn resolve for protection and prosperity is also considered beneficial.
