After ruling theatres, Bhooth Bangla is all set for its much-anticipated OTT release. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Wamiqa Gabbi, among others. According to 123Telugu report, Netflix has secured the streaming rights of Bhooth Bangla. The film is reportedly expected to premiere on the platform around June 12.

Bhooth Bangla marks the return of filmmaker Priyadarshan's signature blend of comedy and chaos, but this time with a supernatural twist. The film combines elements of horror, village folklore, mystery and family drama, creating a story that goes beyond the usual horror-comedy formula. Rather than relying solely on jump scares and spooky visuals, the movie weaves humour into a deeply rooted narrative steeped in local legends and traditions. The rural setting and emotional undertones add depth to the story, giving audiences a mix of laughter, suspense and intrigue.

At the heart of the film is Arjun, played by Akshay Kumar, a London-based man whose life takes an unexpected turn after he inherits a sprawling ancestral palace in the village of Mangalpur following his mother's death. Hoping to put the property to good use, Arjun initially plans to transform the palace into a grand wedding venue for his sister. However, his plans are soon disrupted when he arrives in the village and discovers a chilling secret that has haunted the community for generations.

As Arjun begins to learn more about Mangalpur's dark past, he encounters stories of a terrifying curse linked to newlywed brides. According to local folklore, a demonic entity known as Vadhusur emerges to abduct brides and claim them as human sacrifices. The legend has left the villagers living in constant fear, with every wedding carrying the shadow of an impending tragedy. What initially appears to be a superstition soon becomes impossible for Arjun to ignore as strange and unsettling events begin to unfold around him.
