Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay paid his last respects to ace filmmaker Bharathiraja, who passed away at 84. Vijay was among the first prominent names to visit late filmmaker's home. Known as the Aladdin of Tamil Cinema, Bharathiraja reportedly breathed his last at his Chennai residence on Wednesday after battling age-related health issues.

Videos showing Vijay arriving at and later leaving the late director's Chennai residence quickly surfaced on social media, as members of the film fraternity and fans came together to mourn the loss of one of Tamil cinema's most influential filmmakers.
Bharathiraja to receive full state honours
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced that veteran filmmaker and actor Bharathiraja will be laid to rest with full State honours. The announcement came shortly after the 84-year-old legendary director passed away in Chennai following age-related health issues.
