Inde Navarrette has demonstrated her acting abilities by playing Nikki Freeman, apart from winning people over with her appearance in the newest Hollywood blockbuster, Obsession. However, very few are aware that the young performer made her debut in a romantic movie directed by an Indian filmmaker years ago. Yes, you read that right!
Inde Navarrette's Link To Indian Filmmaker
Inde Navarrette starred in the romantic short movie Cross Words Together in 2018 at the age of 17. It was directed by Indian filmmaker Shubham Sanjay Shevade for his thesis movie in Los Angeles.
Inde Navarrette examined various viewpoints on love via the experiences of three women at various phases of their lives in this short movie. She portrayed an adolescent girl attempting to comprehend what love really means. The Indian filmmaker claimed that the part called for emotional honesty and innocence, which she delivered to the screen with ease.

It was SAG-approved, allowing her to qualify for membership in the Screen Actors Guild. Cross Words Together later gained notoriety after being chosen for Amazon Studios' Shorts programme. The Indian filmmaker told IFP that Inde Navarrette portrayed a young girl 'trying to understand what love means' and an adolescent.
Indian Filmmaker Hails Inde Navarrette
Following the success of Obsession, Shubham Sanjay Shevade penned a note for Inde Navarrette, along with some BTS scenes. "8 years ago, I directed a short film - Cross Words Together and had the privilege of working with @indenavarrette. Looking back at these BTS photos today, it's amazing to see how far she's come."
He added, "Long before the world started obsessing over her performance in Obsession (@obsessionthemovie), I was fortunate enough to witness her talent firsthand while directing her in a romantic short film. The role required a certain innocence and emotional honesty, and that’s something she brought naturally to the screen."

Obsession Box Office And Budget
Curry Barker is the director of the horror movie Obsession, which centres on Bear (Michael Johnston), an apparently shy young guy who hopes the girl he likes will fall in love with him. The wish is fulfilled, but Nikki (Inde) only loves him against her will.
The movie has received recognition for tackling delicate topics, including women's autonomy, consent, and the nice-guy stereotype in contemporary dating. Some have referred to Inde's performance as one of the highlights.
The eleven-day running total for Obsession now stands at Rs. 46.75 crore / USD 4.90 million approx in India. It will cross the Rs. 50 crore mark today, with collections expected to grow on account of 'Discount Tuesday'.
Obsession's US collections stand at $156.1 million, with a global haul in the upwards of $229.3 million.
