Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy epic Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva laid the groundwork for a massive trilogy and recent updates from CinemaCon 2026 suggest the 'Astraverse' is far from over. Producer Namit Malhotra, who is currently on a promotional spree for Ramayana alongside Yash in Las Vegas, confirmed his commitment to Brahmāstra 2, according to a report in ETimes. Work on the sequel is expected to accelerate once Ramayana is completed.
The upcoming installment is set to dive deeper into the lore, focusing on the highly anticipated backstory and complex romance between Dev and Amrita. Hints of this development first surfaced in October 2025, when director Ayan Mukerji shared photos of himself working on a script during a mountain retreat, subtly teasing the project with cryptic hashtags.
While a formal release date remains under wraps, the combined efforts of Mukerji and Malhotra ensure that the ambitious saga of the Astras will continue to unfold on a global scale.
Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor also dropped a hint about Brahmastra. He said, "It is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time. He is currently working on War 2. Once this releases, he will start pre-production of Brahmastra 2. It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but then some really interesting announcements (will be made soon) regarding Brahmastra 2."
