The craze around Dhurandhar refuses to die down, with the franchise continuing its record-breaking run at the box office. Parts 1 and 2 have together crossed Rs 3000 crore globally. Despite being banned in Pakistan, reports suggest audiences there are still finding ways to watch the film. The Ranveer Singh starrer, directed by Aditya Dhar, has also sparked a cinematic response across the border. Pakistani filmmakers have made Mera Lyari, positioning it as an answer to the Dhurandhar films and their portrayal of Karachi’s Lyari.

Meri Lyari executive producer Ayesha Omar revealed on Saturday that the film, which portrayed Lyari via its girls' love of football, will have its premiere at the UK Asian Film Festival in London.

Meri Lyari Release Date

Meri Lyari will screen on May 2, 2026, at the British Film Institute in Southbank, London. According to Ayesha Omar, this is the moment that brings the spirit of 'Lyari to a global stage' before it is subsequently released in Pakistan.
