The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be bigger than ever, with a unique opening celebration taking place across three cities in three different countries. Instead of one traditional opening ceremony, FIFA has planned multiple events featuring some of the biggest names in music. From pop icons to global chart-toppers, fans can expect spectacular performances ahead of football's biggest tournament.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony Celebrity Performances
For the first time, the World Cup opening festivities will be held in three host nations, showcasing their culture and music.
Mexico City, Mexico (Estadio Azteca stadium) – June 11
The tournament begins with performances by Shakira and Burna Boy, who will perform the official FIFA anthem, ‘Dai Dai.’
Other artists expected to perform include J Balvin, Tyla, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules and Danny Ocean.
Toronto, Canada (BMO Field stadium) – June 12
Canada's celebration will focus on the country's cultural diversity. Nora Fatehi will lead a special performance, while Michael Bublé, Jessie Reyez, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna and Vegedream are also part of the lineup.

Los Angeles, USA (SoFi Stadium) – June 12
The United States ceremony will feature major international stars, including Katy Perry, Future, Lisa from BLACKPINK and Tyla.
