Bandana Styling Tips For Summer:  In 2026, bandana fashion is back in trend. It is a type of kerchief or handkerchief, usually in vibrant colours with printed patterns. They are a versatile piece of clothing, and now Gen Z are incorporating them in their styling to add a more creative flair to their looks. These kerchief typically comes in triangular or square shapes, worn on the head, around the neck, waist and numerous other ways.

Interestingly, I came across a fun fact about the bandana that they originated in India. Yes, its name also comes from Hindi and Sanskrit words ‘bandhana,’ which simply means ‘to tie.’ This handkerchief was made in the traditional Bandhani tie-dyeing technique, famous in the regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Through this tie-dye technique, the fabric is tied into thousands of tiny knots before dyeing to create vibrant, speckled patterns.

Later, through the East India Company, these intricately dyed fabrics were introduced to Europe. And then Scottish textile towns revolutionised it through mass production by printing the famous paisley motif on a bandana.
