Fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on the film. Now, actor Yash, who plays Ravana, has shared an important update about its release timeline. His latest statement has increased excitement, giving audiences a clearer idea of when this epic project will hit theatres.
Yash Reveals Ramayana Release Timeline At International Event

Yash recently shared a major update about Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. He confirmed that the first part of the film is planned for release in October 2026. The actor revealed this information while attending a film convention in Las Vegas.
During a conversation with Michael Sandoval, when he was asked when we can see Ramayana, Yash replied, “Ramayana, we are planning this year around Diwali, which is in the last week. His statement confirmed that the team is aiming for a festive release timeline. Let us tell you, Diwali 2026 will be celebrated on 8 November according to the Hindu calendar.

Earlier, the makers had announced that the film would release during Diwali 2026. However, Yash clarified that the movie is now expected to hit theatres in the last week of October, around the festive period. This slight change still keeps the film within the Diwali celebration window.

No Face-Off Between Yash And Ranbir Kapoor In First Part
Recently, Yash clarified in a promotional event with Namit Malhotra at CinemaCon that there will be no face-off between him and Ranbir Kapoor in the first part of the film. This means audiences will have to wait longer to see their much-anticipated confrontation. Yash also talked about his off-screen relationship with Ranbir, saying that he is truly a brilliant actor, and we share a great mutual understanding.
Ramayana Star Cast And Future Plans
The film features a strong cast, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram and Yash portraying Raavan. Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita, while Sunny Deol plays Hanuman and Ravi Dubey takes on the role of Lakshman. The makers are planning a two-part release, with the first instalment arriving in 2026 and the second expected around Diwali 2027.
