Mrunal Thakur revealed that she was disappointed by a few unanticipated events that occurred during Son Of Sardaar 2. The actor said that she was unaware a senior actor would play her husband's role in the movie. It is the follow-up to Ashwini Dhir's popular comedy from 2012. Only Ajay Devgn returned to play his part in the second part. Ravi Kishan, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Sanjay Mishra, and numerous others featured in Son Of Sardaar 2.
Mrunal Thakur, who is currently enjoying the success of Dacoit: A Love Story, talked about how Son of Sardaar 2 did not live up to her expectations. She disclosed that her 'trust was shaken' because she had no idea that a senior actor would portray her husband in the movie.
Mrunal Thakur: 'Very Senior Actor' Played My Husband
Mrunal Thakur confessed in a chat with the YouTube channel Prema The Journalist,"I didn't know a very senior actor was going to play my husband. Because that just changes my...this is not what I expected from the movie. So, there I failed. Because there was a little bit of trust that was shaken. But you know what, I don't have regrets."

While Mrunal Thakur, 33, was paired alongside the 57-year-old star actor and co-producer Ajay Devgn, Chunky Panday played her husband in the movie. She is thirty years younger than Chunky, 63.

Mrunal Thakur revealed that two 'important' moments involving her character and her stepdaughter Saba (played by Roshni Walia) were removed from the movie during the editing process, which was another issue she had about her storyline.
"I did not know two important scenes of mine would be edited on the table. Like, there’s this beautiful scene with me and Roshni. She’s actually my sister’s child, and my sister dies in the movie—it’s just a narrative. And I give up my personal life for her betterment. She says, ‘It’s better I don’t have a mother, I have you. And I pray that every girl gets a mother like you, even if you’ve not given birth to me.’ But the way you’ve taken care… that narrative was missing," she shared.
Son Of Sardaar Hit Or Flop?
Son of Sardaar 2 barely made Rs 66 crore at the box office worldwide. The surprise success of Mohit Suri's romance film Saiyaara, which made almost Rs 580 crore worldwide despite the sequel's release being delayed by one week, also had a significant impact.
