Jaismine Lamboria Wins Commonwealth Games 2026 Gold, Defeats Michaela Walsh 5-0 In Women's 57kg Final

Jaismine won the women’s 57kg boxing gold medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after beating Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh by a 5-0 unanimous decision on Saturday.

The Indian pugilist made a confident start and stayed in control from the opening bell. She used quick footwork, accurate punches and smart movement around the ring to keep Walsh under pressure throughout the final at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC).

Jaismine looked comfortable across all three rounds and never allowed her opponent to build any momentum. She landed the cleaner punches, defended well and remained calm whenever Walsh tried to close the distance.

Her performance impressed all five judges. Three judges scored the bout 29-28, while the other two gave her a wider 30-27 victory, resulting in a clear unanimous decision.

The gold medal is another big achievement for Jaismine and adds to India’s strong boxing campaign at the Commonwealth Games. It also boosts the country’s overall medal tally at Glasgow 2026.

This was India’s second boxing gold medal of the day. Earlier, Preeti Pawar claimed the women’s 54kg title with a dominant 5-0 unanimous decision win over Canada’s Scarlett Delgado. Together, the two victories gave India another memorable day in the boxing ring.
