The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its investigation into the death of actress and model Twisha Sharma as it has received the second post-mortem report prepared by experts from AIIMS, Delhi.
The development was confirmed by Twisha Sharma's lawyer, Ankur Pandey. The investigating agency’s primary focus is on understanding the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy, abortion, and subsequent death.
Jagran sources indicate that the investigating agency is attempting to determine how the events unfolded between the abortion and the death.
Analysis of family circumstances, phone records, electronic evidence, and other facts has been completed. Due to the discrepancies in the claims of both parties, every aspect of the investigation is being closely examined.
CBI yet to share AIIMS-Delhi autopsy details
However, the CBI has not yet shared any official information regarding the findings of the second post-mortem report.
Meanwhile, the evaluation of technical evidence collected by experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) during the crime scene reconstruction and the final report of the dummy test has been expedited.
The second post-mortem report from AIIMS is being compared with the dummy test findings to determine whether the case involved suicide, abetment to suicide, or a conspiracy.
Negligence in the initial probe
During the CBI probe, negligence in the initial investigation has also come to light. Investigating officer Dinesh Sharma, then Sub-Inspector of Katara Hills Police Station, is accused of delaying the delivery of the ligature belt used in the incident to the medical team by two days.
The preliminary investigation report has identified both these aspects as serious lapses. Following the release of the report, the possibility of departmental action against SI Dinesh Sharma has increased.
