Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary took oath as deputy chief ministers as part of the new government formation.
Nitish Kumar Resigns As Bihar CM
This comes after Nitish Kumar, now a Rajya Sabha MP, resigned as Chief Minister on Tuesday and dissolved his cabinet. Kumar's exit paved the way for the BJP to assume the top executive role for the first time, signalling a shift in alliance dynamics within the NDA.
Choudhary, who previously served as Deputy Chief Minister and held the crucial home portfolio in the outgoing government, now steps into the lead role to head the new government.
Samrat Elected As NDA Legislature Party Leader
Earlier on Tuesday, Choudhary was elected as the leader of the NDA Legislature Party. Choudhary, who joined the party in 2017, was elected in the presence of senior leadership, including state BJP chief Nitin Nabin and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who were appointed as the central observer by the party's parliamentary board to oversee the leadership transition.

The Rise Of Samrat Choudhary
Choudhary’s rise within the Bharatiya Janata Party has been nothing short of meteoric. Since joining the party in 2017, he has emerged as a key strategist, effectively mobilising the Kushwaha community and strengthening the NDA’s foothold in the region. His appointment as Chief Minister is seen as a pivotal move to bring fresh energy into Bihar's governance while maintaining the continuity of the double-engine growth model promised by the coalition.
