Amid turbulence within the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the most shocking buzz started on Wednesday that party MP Saayoni Ghosh, one of the most outspoken and staunch supporters of Mamata Banerjee, has extended support to the rebel Lok Sabha MP group.

Saayoni Ghosh, who has been expressing a desire to see Mamata Banerjee as the country's prime minister, has now reportedly decided to part ways, as she does not see any future in the current, fractured TMC.

Sources suggest that the TMC reached out to rebel faction leader Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and expressed its willingness to support the bloc. She has reportedly signed the letter of support.

Opened a front with 20 rebel MPs

Jadavpur MP Saayoni Ghosh's switch to the other side is more surprising as she, after a rebellion in the legislature party by Ritabrata Banerjee, was firm in her support of Mamata. When Mamata announced a reset within the party after the divide, she was given the responsibility of the party's youth wing.

Despite a political firestorm over her switch buzz, Saayoni has not issued a public statement to confirm or deny the claims.

Where is Saayoni Ghosh?

The major question that is being discussed is: Where is Saayoni Ghosh now? Sources indicate that Saayoni is not in Kolkata, but in Delhi, where the rebel MPs are camping.

Another MP, Mala Roy, considered very close to Mamata Banerjee, has also arrived in Delhi and joined the rebel camp.

How did Saayoni, who had made sharp attacks on BJP, change her tone?

Saayoni Ghosh's track record over the past few years puts her as one of the most ardent critics of the BJP and NDA's policies. Be it the Election Commission, alleged poll irregularities, and vote theft, she had been at the forefront of attacking the BJP.

Even after the TMC's defeat in the recent assembly elections, he claimed that Mamata Banerjee had not lost the election, but that votes had been stolen. He said, "We have not lost, but Mamata Banerjee has been defeated due to vote theft and plunder. The people of Bengal will give a befitting reply in 2029 and 2031."

However, the situation has now completely changed. Saayoni Ghosh, who once criticised the BJP profusely, has now become part of a rebel faction supporting the BJP-led NDA. It is anticipated that she has likely changed her stance as Mamata is at her weakest right now, while the party has been divided into three factions. As an MP, she has two options: either to become a minority bloc under Mamata or join the majority bloc, which may claim the party in the near future.
