Jagran Correspondent, Ayodhya: After the Ram Temple's ‘missing funds’ row escalated, trustee Nripendra Misra arrived in Ayodhya. He held a meeting with trust officials in the auditorium located in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex and inquired about the matter in detail. Currently, Nripendra Misra serves as the Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Nripendra Misra's arrival in Ayodhya is being linked to a directive from the Prime Minister's Office. The PMO has requested a full report on the matter. However, speaking to Dainik Jagran over the phone, Mis said, "I am involved in construction work, and the donation box issue pertains to temple management."
Since the early days of the Ram Temple's construction, Misra has been regularly visiting Ayodhya to hold bi-weekly review meetings and also holds online meetings with the implementing agencies every Saturday. This review meeting is scheduled for June 13. According to officials associated with the implementing agencies, an email regarding the meeting has also been received.
After embezzlement of funds from the donation box of Ram temple was detected, half a dozen suspicious employees were caught.
Jagran sources said that Misra held a secret meeting with the trust officials on Monday evening in the auditorium on the premises. Apart from him, four members of the trust were present in this meeting. These four members also look after all the management related to the Ram temple.
Interrogation Of Suspected Individuals Underway
The interrogation of the employees arrested for misappropriation of donation funds is still ongoing. Sources said that based on their information, the police have recovered large sums of money from two or three locations. Some employees involved in the counting process are still under the radar. Their activities are being monitored. They may also be questioned soon. These suspected employees are associated with the trust, banks, and collection agencies. Sources have informed that the number of these employees has now increased from four to six to nine.
Internal Audit Held
For the past several days, the trust has been conducting an internal audit of the funds deposited by devotees in the donation boxes at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. Sources said this audit has been ongoing for a fortnight. During this audit, it was discovered that while the number of visitors to the Ram Temple is higher than other temples, the donations have decreased. This suspicion was confirmed when a hidden camera installed in a secret room was checked. Sources said that this embezzlement was not done in a single day, but gradually for a long time with mutual collusion.
