A clash broke out at Purnea MP Pappu Yadav's residence in Delhi after a man wielding a knife entered his press conference. Yadav, whose real name in Rajesh Ranjan, has been facing criticism ove rhis recent Ram Temple donation theft skit outside Parliament. The video of the incident shows a shoe being hurled at him after which, the crowd turns to the accused and nabs him.
Reacting to the incident, Yadav called it a plot to kill him alleging that Babas are making provocative statements against him.
"Babas are saying every day, ‘Kill me, burn me down; we will give ₹51 lakh.’ We caught him and handed him over to the police. There was a plot to kill me, but I survived," he said while speaking to media.

During the skit, he was dressed in saffron like a Hindu seer. He, along with Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, presented an act of donation theft where he took the money himself instead of donation box.
The act caused a stir as an FIR was registered against Gandhi, Yadav and Prasad in Varanasi. Earlier in the day, Yadav reacted to the FIR saying, "Don't I have the right to wear saffron? Rahul Gandhi was never afraid of FIRs, Priyanka Gandhi was never afraid, so how can Pappu Yadav be afraid?"
He added that he is 'ready to face death' to protect the faith of the people against those who betray Sanatan and God.
The Purnia MP told reporters said, "If Pappu Yadav has to die to protect Sanatan and India's faith against those who betray Sanatan and God, then I go out every day prepared to face death."
