Jagran Correspondent, Prayagraj: The North Central Railway (NCR) has decided to hand over ticket distribution services at 29 railway stations under the Prayagraj Division to private operators. Ticket counters at these stations will now be managed by contractual Station Ticket Booking Agents (STBAs), who will issue unreserved (general) tickets to passengers through computerised systems instead of regular railway employees.

NCR To Outsource Ticket Counters

According to Naidunia report, the appointment is being made entirely on a contractual basis for a period of three years. However, it will be implemented as a pilot project at NSG-4 category stations until May 20, 2027. Selected agents will be paid based on commissions earned from ticket sales rather than a fixed salary. Benefits such as regularisation or government allowances will not be included in this.
