- The accused in the molestation case, Nandan Yadav, suffered bullet injuries to his leg during the encounter.
- Another accused, Hareram Yadav, also suffered injuries to his leg during face off with the police in Jamui.
- The accused have been booked under the POCSO Act along with several other sections of the BNS.
Jamui Minors Assault Case: Two accused in the Jamui molestation case have been injured during a police encounter in the Town Police Station area on Tuesday. One accused, identified as Nandan Yadav, has been shot in the leg, while the other accused, Hareram Yadav, sustained a fracture in his leg while trying to flee during the police raid.
With the two arrests, a total of six people, including three minors, have been arrested so far in the case. The Bihar police earlier in the day arrested Ramashish Chaudhary, who allegedly shared the viral video of the incident on social media.

The police identified Hareram Yadav through a viral video of the incident. Police said he was the youth seen wearing a red gamchha in the footage that surfaced on social media.

"Both Nandan and Hareram have been hospitalised. Earlier, we had picked up three minors, who will be dealt with by the juvenile justice board", DIG Munger Range, Rakesh Kumar, said as quoted by PTI.
"We may pick up a few more people after interrogating Hareram and Nandan upon their recovery. From the video clip, it was not clear exactly how many persons were involved in the incident," he added.
"However, we can safely say that the main accused have been caught. In fact, it was Hareram who was seen in the clip with his face wrapped in a scarf, leading the group," DIG Kumar said.
The incident took place on September 19 in a hilly area near the Jamui-Lakhisarai border. According to police, the two class 10 students were returning after attending coaching classes when a group of youths allegedly stopped them and subjected them to alleged inappropriate behaviour.
The videos of the assault showed the accused groping the girl from behind and assaulting the boy. The videos further showed the girl pleading with the accused to leave them.
Although the victims did not lodge a police complaint, the incident came to light on Monday when clips of the incident, apparently shot by one of the alleged perpetrators, went viral on social media.
As the viral video sparked outrage from netizens as well as political opponents of the ruling NDA in the state, police took suo motu cognisance of the matter, traced the victims and formed a Special Investigating Team.
