MP To Become Semiconductor Hub, Microchips Manufacturing To Get Boost To Reduce Foreign Dependence

Madhya Pradesh is striving to become a hub of semiconductors so as to reduce India's dependence on the foreign market. MP has staretd to attract investors in the semiconductor sector to produce micro chips in the state. To that end, the state government will hold a dialogue at the global level this month.

Investors from countries across the world will be invited by organising a dialogue in Bhopal or Indore. Through the dialogue, investors will be made aware of the state policy and subsidy programmes for the semiconductor sector.

Contacting agencies and colleges for skilled human resources

The biggest problem in this sector is human resources. To address this, the state government is contacting agencies that already have a team of skilled youth, so that investing companies can utilise their services as needed.

College students pursuing technical courses like ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) will also be contacted. Efforts will also be made to ensure investors receive land allotment and other permissions for setting up units within a month.

The Department of Science and Technology will secure environmental and fire safety permits in advance, allowing investors to establish industrial units directly. Furthermore, industrial units will be provided with subsidies in accordance with the policy.

Paras Defence invests Rs 6,200 crore

Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited has signed an MoU to establish a world-class OSAT semiconductor unit in the state with an investment of Rs 6,200 crore. Paras Semiconductors is establishing India's first state-of-the-art Advanced Heterogeneous Packaging OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility.
