Authorities in Amravati district of Maharashtra have initiated a demolition drive against the illegal portions of the 19-year-old Ayan Tanveer's house, a primary accused in a severe case involving the sexual exploitation and filming of over 180 minore girls. A heavy police contingent was deployed during the operation to maintain law and order.

Administrative Action

The Achalpur Municipal Council Spearheaded the demolition in Paratwada city. An illegal iron staircase, which provided unauthorised access to the first floor of the suspect's home, was rased using a JCB machine. BJP MLA Pravin Tayade was present at the site. Officials stated that a notice regarding the encroachment had been served to the family prior to the enforcement.

Case Background

The case emerged on April 11, 2026, following the arrest of Mohammad Ayan Tanveer after a tip-off directed investigators to his activities in the Paratwada area of Amravati. The allegations against him include:

Modus Operandi: Trapping minor girls through "love traps" and taking them to Mumbai and Pune.

Blackmail:  Recording approximately 350 explicit videos used to extort and threaten the victims.

Digital Reach: Utilising WhatsApp and Snapchat groups to identify and target minors.

The scandal erupted after several photos and videos were leaked on social media, prompting immediate police intervention.

Political And Legal Status

While there were claims linking Ayan to the AIMIM, the party's district president has distanced the organisation from the accused. He clarified that Ayan was briefly hired for social media work during Gram Panchayat elections but was terminated long ago for poor performance.

Current Investigation Status:

- Ayan is currently in police custody for seven days following a court appearance on April 14.

- Three additional suspects, including Ujar Khan, have been apprehended.

- Digital forensics are underway on the seized mobile devices to trace the distribution network of the recorded content.

Public Unrest And Security

The revelations have sparked widespread outrage in Paratwada and Achalpur. Local Hindu organisations called for a regional shutdown (bandh), leading to heightened security measures.

While the opposition has raised questions regarding the state's law and order, the ruling administration maintains that their swift response, including the arrests and the demolition demonstrates a zero-tolerance policy. Authorities are urging witnesses or victims with further information to cooperate with the ongoing investigation as they uncover the full extent of this criminal network.
