Jagran Correspondent, Ranchi: The southwest monsoon is expected to arrive in Jharkhand in the next four to five days, bringing relief from the scorching heat. In an update issued by the Meteorological Center, Ranchi, it has been stated that conditions are becoming favourable for the monsoon to advance into the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, the southwest Bay of Bengal, the west central and northwest Bay of Bengal, and some more parts of West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Consequently, rainfall activity is likely to intensify in these states.

Light To Moderate Rain Likely

Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that as the monsoon activity increases, light to moderate rainfall is expected in many places, while heavy rain is indicated in some areas. The rainfall will bring down temperatures and provide relief from the humid heat.

The favourable time for sowing Kharif crops will also begin for the farmers, which is expected to give impetus to agricultural activities.

With the arrival of monsoon, conditions such as strong winds, lightning strikes, and heavy rainfall may occur in many places. Therefore, people are advised to monitor forecasts and warnings issued by the central government and take necessary precautions during inclement weather.

He said that if the current favourable conditions continue, monsoon may arrive in most parts of Bihar and Jharkhand in the next few days, which will provide relief to the common people and farmers who have been waiting for rain for a long time.

Alert For Northwest, Adjoining Central Parts

In the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, it has been said that on June 10, a yellow alert has been issued in the northwestern part of Jharkhand like - Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra and Latehar, besides the nearby central part - Ranchi, Ramgarh, Gumla, Bokaro, Khunti, Lohardaga and Dhanbad, regarding lightning accompanied by thunder and strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph.

On June 11 and 12, an orange alert has been issued for lightning accompanied by thunder and strong winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kmph in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Koderma as well as north-eastern districts i.e. Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Jamtara, Giridih and Sahibganj.
