Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the temperature is likely to significantly increase in several states in the next few days. The weather department stated that the temperature in several northern states is likely to increase by four to six degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at above 40 degrees Celsius in several states, leading to the inconveniences. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that the temperature is likely to rise by 4 to 6 degrees between April 14 and April 18. It asserted that the residents of Delhi-NCR are also set to witness a sudden surge in the temperature in the upcoming days. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to reach up to 41 degrees Celsius by April 17, leading to inconveniences.

The IMD further stated that several regions of other states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, are also likely to witness similar weather conditions. The farmers of these states have been advised to protect their crops and avoid the outdoor activities during the peak hours. The weather department stated that heatwave-like conditions are being observed in the Northern Plains, Western regions, and Central India.

Apart from this, a heatwave alert has also been issued for several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, for April 14, 15, and 16. However, the weather department also stated that several regions of northeastern states are likely to witness rainfall for the next few days.

It stated that light to moderate rainfall is likely in Assam and Meghalaya at least till April 17, adding that heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
