Delhi-NCR Weather: A sudden change in weather brought significant relief to the people of Delhi-NCR, troubled by the scorching heat and humidity, late Wednesday night. Rain accompanied by strong storms lashed several areas of the national capital. Heavy rainfall was also recorded in Greater Noida.

The rain was accompanied by strong winds and lightning. The change in weather brought a drop in temperatures, bringing relief to people from the intense heat.

Earlier, the Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for strong storms and rain for Thursday, while a yellow alert for Friday. The weather is expected to remain pleasant for the next two days, with temperatures expected to drop further.

Pre-Monsoon Activity Likely To Intensify In Delhi: IMD

Meanwhile, Delhi continued to reel under intense heat, with the maximum temperature crossing 43 degrees Celsius at most weather stations in the day, even as meteorologists forecast a significant increase in pre-monsoon activity from Thursday that could bring widespread rain and relief from the scorching conditions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert with a forecast of very light to light rainfall and thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds of speeds up to 40-50 kmph during the night.
