Delhi Traffic Advisory: Commuters across the national capital are advised to prepare for delays as the Delhi Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory that will remain in effect until June 18.
According to the advisory, traffic will remain affected due to ongoing 220 KV cable-laying work by Delhi Transco Ltd., from Faiz Road to R/A Idgah, leading toward the Rani Jhansi Flyover. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use alternate routes, and avoid the affected stretch during peak hours.
Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory
According to the advisory, Delhi Transco Ltd. is undertaking 220 KV cable-laying work from Faiz Road toward the Roundabout (R/A) Idgah, leading to the Rani Jhansi Flyover from June 8 to June 18. The project involves road-cutting at multiple locations along the stretch, with barricades placed at work sites for public safety.
Consequently, the tragic movement is expected to remain affected during the work, with commuters advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
Traffic Restrictions
- Traffic movement is expected to be affected on Faiz Road toward the Idgah roundabout and Rani Jhansi Flyover, from June 8 to June 18, 2026.
- Commuters are likely to face peak congestion between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Alternate Routes
- Traffic coming from Central or New Delhi are advised to use Pusa Road-Link Road-Vandematram Marg to reach Ridge Road/Rani Jhansi Road. Alternatively, motorists can take the Desh Bandhu Gupta (DBG) Road, Panchkuian Road, Outer Ring Road.
- Commuters travelling from Karol Bagh or Old Rajinder Nagar towards ISBT Kashmere Gate/Civil Lines are advised to take New Rohtak Road via Jeewan Mala Hospital, then proceed through the Azad Market Flyover or Pul Bangash.
- Commuters travelling towards Boulevard from Pusa Road or Karol Bagh will be diverted via Dayal Singh College Road-Chowk Filmistan, and continue through Sadhu Vaswani Marg.
Emergency vehicles, including Ambulances, the fire brigade, the Delhi Police and other emergency service vehicles, are exempted from these traffic restrictions.
Advisory For Commuters
- Avoid the affected route during the work period.
- Use alternate routes to minimise inconvenience.
- Plan journeys in advance and allow extra time for travel.
- The Delhi Traffic Police have urged commuters to adhere to traffic rules and extend cooperation with the police personnel during this maintenance period.
