- Delhi Police drops FIR against 15-year-old girl.
- Girl used abusive language against PM Modi.
- Decision follows PM Modi's message of forgiveness.
Jagran Correspondent | New Delhi: The Delhi police will not file a First Information Report (FIR) against the 15-year-old girl who used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Cockroach Janata Party’s protest at Jantar Mantar. No case will be registered against the minor, and no legal proceedings will be held against her in the future.
The decision comes days after a Zero FIR lodged by the Noida Police over the incident and was transferred to the Delhi Police, as the alleged offence had taken place in the national capital.
The viral clip, widely shared on social media, showed the girl allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Modi during a protest organised by the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
Girl's Apology
The minor, on Saturday, apologised to PM Narendra Modi for her behaviour. She said, "I am very happy that PM Modi has forgiven me. It is a very big thing for me. In a way, I have got a second life. I made such a big mistake, and I never thought I would be forgiven," she said.
"I felt that everything was over. He forgave me immediately. I started crying because the same person against whom I used such bad words has forgiven me. I used wrong words, and forgiving me after that is a very big thing," the teenager added.
PM Modi's Message
The teenager's apology came hours after PM Narendra Modi posted a video message on Instagram, saying, “They are misguided children. It is our duty to show them the way. Punishing them and dragging them through courts and harassing them will not change the circumstances. I want to forgive them. I request society also to accept what I am saying.”
The Zero FIR
Noida’s Expressway police station on Wednesday had registered a Zero FIR against the minor for using abusive language against the PM.
The Ghaziabad complainant alleged that the minor had used abusive and objectionable language against Prime Minister Modi during the July 23 protest at Jantar Mantar. The FIR identified the accused as Ruchika Singh, 25. Her mother, however, clarified that the name and age mentioned in the FIR were wrong. She urged the prime minister to get the case against her dropped so she could lead a peaceful life.
