Bihar Politics: In a major development in Bihar politics, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has submitted his resignation , paving the way to form the next government. The name of the next chief minister will be announced in the later parts of the day, and the oath ceremony will be held on Wednesday. While Bihar is expected to get its first chief minister from the BJP, the post of deputy chief minister and other key portfolios are likely to be given to the JDU.

Tuesday:

11 AM: Cabinet meeting

11.30 AM: Nitish Kumar will visit the Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation

2.00 PM: Meeting of the legislative party at the BJP office

4.00 PM: Meeting of the NDA legislative party at the chief minister's residence

4.30 PM: Name of the next chief minister will be announced during this meeting

5.00 PM: Meeting with the Governor to stake a claim to form the government

Wednesday:

11 AM: Cabinet Swearing-in of the new government

Several prominent politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Naveen, and other union ministers, are likely to participate in the event. While the name of the next chief minister has not been finalised yet, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is one of the frontrunners.

While the leaders from the BJP are expected to get the key posts like chief minister and home minister, the JDU leaders are also likely to be given key portfolios to maintain the balance of power within the alliance. Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar is also likely to get a key responsibility. Apart from this, several newly elected MLAs of the JDU are also likely to be included in the new cabinet.

The BJP leaders have asserted that the new government will be formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
