Bankipur, Datia Bypoll Results LIVE: Prashant Kishor Leads By 862 Votes In Early Trends; BJP Ahead In Manjalpur, Datia

After the second round of counting, Prashant Kishor is leading by 1,161 votes. BJP's Neeraj Sinha is in second place. The BJP candidate received 2,634 votes, while the RJD candidate received 664 votes.

Early trends in Gujarat's Manjalpur show Satish Govindbhai Patel is leading by 3,519 votes. Patel has received 6,287 votes. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Bhikhabhai Rabari, has received 2,768 votes till now.

After the first round of counting, Prashant Kishor is leading by 862 votes. BJP's Neeraj Sinha is in second place. The BJP candidate received 1,363 votes, while the RJD candidate received 505 votes.

Counting of votes for the Manjalpur Assembly by-election in Gujarat has begun.The counting of votes for the by-election to the Manjalpur Assembly seat in Vadodara city of Gujarat began on Monday morning amid tight security, officials said.

Before the vote count began, BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari from Bankipur arrived at the counting center, where he stated that he was confident the BJP would win. The first trends were expected at 9 am.

The counting of votes for the by-election in the Bankipur assembly seat is taking place under tight security and CCTV surveillance. Postal ballots are being counted first.

In MP's Datia constituency, the bypoll has largely shaped up as a direct contest between the BJP's Ashutosh Tiwari and Congress candidate Ghanshyam Singh. The constituency registered a voter turnout of 71.44 per cent. The bypoll became necessary after sitting Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti lost his membership following a Delhi court's decision to sentence him to 3 years imprisonment in a fraud case in April.

Bankipur bypoll was made interesting by Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor amid resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Education minister due to the Gen Z protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. However, BJP's national president Nitin Nabin seems unfazed.

During voting, Prashant Kishor had alleged that the Jan Suraaj supporters were harassed by the police officials at several polling booths. 

"People have a grievance that the police are harassing Jan Suraaj-supporting voters wherever they gather. Since yesterday evening alone, the police have arrested more than 20 people. Despite this, the situation is absolutely clear: the BJP is heading for a crushing defeat—there is no doubt about it. The police are making a desperate last-ditch effort, but you cannot intimidate four lakh voters through police action," Kishor was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.

Datia in MP is seeing a contest between BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari and Congress' Ghanshyam Singh. Voting was held on July 30 with a turnout of 71.44 per cent.

Counting has started for Bankipur, Datia and Manjalpur bypolls. 

As per the experts, the traditional voters of the saffron party are upset due to several factors, including the alleged extra judicial killing of Bharat Tiwari, a social activist, poor infrastructure and change of candidate. However, the party is confident that despite the temporary disagreements, the traditional voters will vote for the BJP candidate.

Prashant Kishor has projected himself as the third option in Bankipur, urging the voters to give his newly formed party a chance. Earlier in the 2025 assembly polls, Jan Suraj failed to even open its account, with its vote share remaining below five per cent.

The BJP is relying on its traditional vote banks for the bankipur bypoll as the party has maintained its dominance here for the past several decades. Bankipur is being considered crucial for the ruling party as it was earlier represented by BJP chief Nitin Nabin. While the saffron party is relying on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Nabin, the RJD has raised the local issues like poor infrastructure.

The vote counting for Bankipur, Datia and Manjalpur bypolls will begin at 8 am on Monday.
