Popular Haryanvi folk singer, dancer, and former Bigg Boss 11 contestant Sapna Choudhary has filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Yashveer Sahu, who is widely recognised as Veer Sahu. Following her complaint, the Dwarka Mahila Court in New Delhi stepped in to grant the singer immediate interim protection under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
Haryanvi Singer Sapna Choudhary Files Domestic Violence Case Against Husband Veer Sahu
According to legal reports, the court has officially barred Veer Sahu from approaching or contacting his wife. He is also strictly restrained from visiting her personal residence, her professional workplace, and the premiere venue of her new movie. The protection order was delivered just ahead of the premiere of her upcoming film, Momacu, which is scheduled to take place on June 10, 2026.
Who Is Veer Sahu?
Sapna Choudhary and Veer Sahu were secretly married on January 24, 2020, and the couple shares two sons together. However, their relationship reportedly broke down due to continuous domestic issues. Choudhary alleged that Sahu repeatedly assaulted her and deliberately created highly unpleasant scenes in public spaces.
Following these incidents, the singer decided to leave their shared family home and officially file a domestic violence complaint to protect herself. The Delhi court decided to pass the restraint order after carefully reviewing the documentary evidence and evaluating the serious concerns regarding Sapna Choudhary's personal safety and her immediate professional commitments.
Speaking on the court's immediate intervention, Sapna Choudhary's legal advocate, Preeti Singh, stated, "The interim protection granted by the learned Court under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act in favour of my client against her husband underscores the object of the law- to provide immediate protection where circumstances warrant. As the matter is sub judice, we will refrain from commenting on the merits and have full faith in the judicial process."

At this stage, neither Sapna Choudhary nor Veer Sahu has released a detailed public statement regarding the ongoing legal allegations.
