Television actress Aditi Sharma, widely recognised for her lead roles in popular shows such as Apollena - Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka!, and Kaleerein, has lodged a domestic violence complaint against her husband, Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, and his family in Mumbai.

An FIR was registered at Goregaon Police Station on 31 July 2026. The complaint names her husband, her mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik (65), and her sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik (29). The Mumbai Police have launched an official investigation into the matter based on her statement.

According to her police statement, Aditi accused the trio of physical and mental harassment, domestic violence, assault, verbal abuse, questioning her character, and misusing her bridal jewellery (stridhan).

The actress revealed that she first met Abhineet during an online acting class in June 2021. Their friendship eventually developed into a romantic relationship, leading them to move into a Goregaon West apartment together in September 2024. The couple subsequently tied the knot on 12 November 2024 with the consent of both families.

However, Aditi alleged that her husband's behaviour changed drastically within days of the wedding, leading to frequent arguments over minor matters and her choice of clothing. She further claimed that instead of contributing to household finances, her husband regularly took money from her.

The complaint states that an argument on 1 January 2025 escalated into verbal abuse. Following the incident, Aditi alleged that Abhineet became suspicious, frequently checked her mobile phone, accused her of having an affair, slept in a separate room, and prevented her from communicating with her parents.

Additionally, Aditi accused her mother-in-law of retaining her bridal jewellery including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, bangles, and her mangalsutra and refusing to return them despite repeated requests.

Aditi Sharma Past Controversies

The marriage between Aditi and Abhineet has been surrounded by media scrutiny since 2025. Previous reports highlighted public fallout and cheating allegations involving actor Samarthya Gupta, which Aditi had firmly addressed.

Abhineet previously claimed to media outlets that he received threats after confronting her, stating, "Ultimatum diya ke 'do din ke andar Bombay chhodna hai aur main Bombay return nahi aa sakta."

Following the latest filing on 31 July, the Goregaon Police are currently investigating all allegations mentioned in the FIR. Neither Abhineet nor his family members have issued a public statement regarding the fresh legal charges.
