Pranit More Stand Up Comedy Controversy: Stand-up comedian Pranit More has found himself at the centre of a massive controversy after a clip from one of his recent crowd-work shows went viral on social media. The online uproar began after an audience member, 23-year-old web developer Himanshu Jangra, made deeply controversial remarks about a date.

Himanshu Jangra suggested that because he had spent Rs 370 on chicken biryani for a woman, he was entitled to physical intimacy in return. In the viral video, Himanshu Jangra stated, “Maine kaha ki Rs 370 lage hain to use to wasool to karunga hi." The comments triggered widespread outrage online, with many netizens criticizing the casual promotion of misogynist mindsets. Following the public backlash, Himanshu Jangra deactivated his social media accounts and was subsequently terminated from his job by his employer, Starvik Design.

Additionally Pranit More also faced heavy criticism for laughing at the comment on stage instead of challenging it. Responding to the backlash, the comedian posted an online apology, writing, "Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of ..laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgement on my part."

When Salman Khan Called Out Bigg Boss 19 Fame Pranit More Over 'Below-The-Belt' Jokes

Amid the ongoing Rs 370 biryani row, an old television controversy involving Pranit More and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has resurfaced online. Back in 2025, shortly after the comedian entered the Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 19, several clips from his past stand-up routines went viral. In those videos, More had taken sharp personal jibes at Khan’s lifestyle, his legal troubles, and his Panvel farmhouse.

Meanwhile, the issue was directly addressed on television by Salman Khan during the season's first Weekend Ka Vaar episode. The superstar confronted the comedian on stage, making it clear that he was very unhappy with the nature of the jokes. Warning the comedian against crossing professional boundaries, Salman Khan told him on the show, “Mujhe pata hai ki aapne mujhpe kya kya bola hai joki sahi nahi hai. Uss waqt aapko logon ko hasana tha, mera naam use karke, aapne voh kiya. I just don’t think you should go beneath the belt."
