School Holiday On August 3: Several district administrations in northern India have announced school holidays for Monday, August 3, 2026, in view of the first Monday of the holy month of Sawan and the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. The decision has been taken to ensure student safety amid heavy pilgrim movement and extensive traffic diversions.

Authorities said schools located along major Kanwar routes and religious centres will remain closed, while some institutions have opted for online classes. Parents have been advised to rely only on official school notifications and district administration orders before sending children to school.
