CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 Out: The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially announced the CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 on April 15, 2026. This year, the overall pass percentage stands at 93.70%, showing a slight increase compared to 93.66% recorded in 2025. The result reflects a stable academic trend with marginal improvement in student performance across the country. 

The Class 10 board examinations were conducted on a massive scale, covering 27,339 schools across India and 27 countries. A total of 24,71,777 students appeared for the exam, and more than 1.63 crore answer sheets were evaluated. According to CBSE officials, the early result declaration- almost a month ahead of the usual mid-May timeline- was made possible due to large-scale digitisation and a streamlined evaluation process involving nearly 7 lakh evaluators.

Gender-wise Performance in CBSE Class 10 Result 2026

The gender-wise analysis of CBSE Class 10 results shows that girls once again outperformed boys, continuing a consistent trend from previous years. In 2026, girls recorded a 94.99% pass percentage, slightly lower than 95.00% in 2025. Boys achieved 92.69%, showing a minor improvement from 92.63% last year. The transgender category recorded 87.50%, which is lower compared to the 95.00% recorded in 2025. 

Massive Examination Scale and Administrative Reach

The CBSE board examination continues to be one of the largest school examination systems globally. In 2026, the exam was conducted across 8,074 examination centres, with over 2.47 million registered candidates. The board deployed more than 2.08 lakh invigilators, while around 1,04,495 classrooms were utilised during the examination period.

On February 21, 2026, CBSE conducted examinations for nearly 24.95 lakh candidates in a single day, marking the largest single-day examination exercise in the boardโ€™s history.

Region-wise and Institution-wise Performance

Region-wise data shows that southern CBSE regions once again dominated the results. Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada recorded the highest pass percentage of 99.79%, followed by Chennai at 99.58%. Institution-wise performance also highlighted a clear hierarchy. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan schools topped the chart with 99.57% pass percentage, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools at 99.42%. Independent schools recorded 93.77%, while government and government-aided schools registered 91.43% and 91.01% respectively.

CBSE officials noted that the 2026 results reflect both the scale of Indiaโ€™s school examination system and ongoing reforms, as the board gradually transitions toward a two-exam structure aimed at reducing student pressure and increasing flexibility in line with education reforms.
