Young fast bowler Praful Hinge had an incredible IPL debut as he took the opening three wickets of the match for Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Rajasthan Royals. His spell with the ball completely changed the momentum of the game from the very first over and had a huge impact on both teams.
The Royals were flying going into this match and had not lost so far this season; however, they were feeling the heat early after losing their top two batsmen for zero and one run, respectively. Each of their two batsmen was a key contributor to the Royals' overall performance, but neither was able to add any runs to the team total due to the fiery spell put together by Hinge.
With Hinge emerging as a potential star bowler for SRH, he had an immediate effect on the match by knocking out their two best batsmen at the start. After getting off to a great start with his first two overs, he went on to take four wickets while giving away only 18 runs in his first two overs and finished with a very impressive performance.
He was born on January 18, 2002, in Nagpur, Maharashtra and plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket. Before joining SRH for the 2026 IPL season, he played 10 First Class matches, where he took 27 wickets, and 6 List A matches where he took 5 Wickets. He has only had one T20 match and took 1 Wicket.

He was brought into the Sunrisers team for Rs 30 Lakhs during the IPL auction and signed by the Bowling Coach Varun Aaron, who discovered him during trials and is responsible for recommending him to be signed by the team.
After his phenomenal debut, he has forever etched himself into IPL history by being the first player to take three wickets in his first over in IPL history – a clear demonstration of a rising talent in the league.
