RCB vs GT IPL 2026 Final: Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched their second consecutive trophy by overpowering the Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the summit clash. However, the team will forgo a victory parade in Bengaluru after successfully defending their IPL 2026 title, PTI reported.

But the team management opted to skip public celebrations in Bengaluru, citing security concerns and strict police restrictions.

They reached this decision just a year after a deadly stampede erupted at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where 11 people tragically perished while celebrating their maiden IPL title win. This incident sparked widespread controversy, prompting the Karnataka government and the judiciary to intervene.

PTI further reported that the appointment of Karnataka's new Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, has also influenced this decision. The planned event at Lok Bhavan is expected to draw a large crowd and necessitate a substantial police presence.

With the Governor residing near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, officials must uphold stringent security measures in this area.

"It is highly unlikely that there will be any activities in Bengaluru. There are certain guidelines in place, and we need to stick to them," an RCB source was quoted as saying to PTI.

The Bengaluru police had also released a statement requesting that fans not hold any road celebrations, including bursting crackers, that might disrupt public order following RCB's win.

"We have issued an advisory asking fans not to celebrate publicly on the streets and especially not to disturb peace and security. We will not allow any public celebrations. If anyone wants to celebrate, they can do it indoors," Seemanth Kumar Singh, who is the police commissioner of Bengaluru city, said.

Beyond security concerns, many RCB players will depart for international commitments. Devdutt Padikkal will join India's Test side for the one-off Test match against Afghanistan. At the same time, other overseas players, including Josh Hazlewood, Tim David, Jacob Duffy, and Romario Shepherd, will gear up for national team duties.

For now, the Rajat Patidar-led side's title win will unfold quietly, even after becoming just the third team in tournament history to defend their title successfully.
