IPL 2026 Purple Cap: Gujarat Titans star pacer Kagiso Rabada captured the Purple Cap this year. He appeared in all 17 matches during IPL 2026 for the Gujarat Titans, snatching 29 wickets. He dismissed one RCB batter during the summit clash and secured his 29th wicket.
He concluded this year by outpacing the Bengaluru-based franchise's Bhuvaneshwar Kumar by a single wicket. Bhuvneshwar played 16 matches and took 28 wickets.
Apart from Rabada and Bhuvneshwar, Jofra Archer emerged as another bowler who dominated the wickets chart this season. He spearheaded the Rajasthan Royals in 16 matches, where he scalped 25 wickets.

Rabada has surged to become the fourth bowler in the history of this tournament to clinch the Purple Cap twice. He first grabbed it during IPL 2020. That season, he played 17 matches for Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, snaring 30 wickets.
Chennai Super Kings' Dwayne Bravo paved the way as the first player to claim the Purple Cap two times in this tournament. He spearheaded their bowling attack in IPL 2013 and 2015, leading the wicket-taking charts.
Bhuvaneshwar captured consecutive purple caps during IPL 2016 and 2017 while representing Sunrisers Hyderabad. In contrast, Harshal Patel clinched the purple cap while starring for the Bengaluru-based franchise in IPL 2021 and the Punjab Kings in IPL 2024.

Rabada has become the third GT bowler, alongside Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna, to seize the purple cap in this tournament.
