GT vs RCB IPL Final 2026: Bhuvneshwar Kumar spearheaded Royal Challengers Bengaluru's bowling attack in the IPL 2026 season. Kumar scripted history in the IPL 2026 final between RCB and GT by levelling Mohammed Shami's tally of most wickets by an Indian bowler during the powerplay in a single season.
Shami had taken 17 wickets for Gujarat in IPL 2023, whereas Bhuvneshwar took his 17th wicket of this season during the fourth over of the first innings.
Under immense pressure, he dismissed Sai Sudharsan, clinching his 17th wicket in the powerplay this season, a moment that electrified fans and fueled his legacy.
However, Kagiso Rabada stands tall with the coveted powerplay wicket record in a single edition, having claimed an extraordinary 19 wickets this season.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar scalped his 27th wicket of the season after he clinched Sai Sudarshan's wicket in the IPL 2026 Final. His consistent wicket-taking has made him the second-highest wicket-taker for RCB.
Bhuvneshwar also missed becoming the first bowler in the tournament's history to win the purple cap thrice. He remained short of one wicket against Kagiso Rabada, who clinched 29 wickets this season.
